BUT THE TRUTH OF THIS THOUGH
But he told him tho
ain’t no lies in this though, and I love that he called him 'boy'.
It’s a called “culture jacking” and it is most profitable.
or appropriation. whatever.
STILL GOING ON……
TRIGGER WARNING: RAPE
So DJ Qualls, who plays Garth on Supernatural made a joke about how his friend gets ‘rapey’ when drunk and his female friends get scared.
He goes on to defend the tweet, and in my opinion, dig himself into a hole. He calls the people who objected to the joke “Self righteous” and “pompous windbags”.
As a rape victim it hurts to see that people think rape jokes are ok. It hurts even more to see an actor you revered partake in the culture.
I don’t know why he thought making a joke that references rape was ok. Wait, now he’s claiming it wasn’t a rape joke. Ok, but it was a tweet sent out with the purpose of making people laugh that discussed rape and how his female friends get scared when his friend Jacob drinks.
I don’t know what’s more hurtful, him saying that in the first place, or going on to defend his behavior. A mature individual would have said “You know what, maybe that wasn’t appropriate. I’m sorry.” Instead he sent out 7 tweets defending himself and insulted the who were hurt by your joke.
I don’t think this is ok, and he obviously refuses to even consider the fact that what he said was wrong.
in case anyone needed a reminder why I hold a vendetta against DJ Qualls and why Garth episodes make me queasy
yes this is from a year ago I don’t care
I remember him tweeting some slurs as well so I didn’t like the guy in the first place. This is just another nail in the coffin.
